50 years ago Ed Conijn started building the popular Flying Dutchman boats. Shortly after he launched his first cruising yacht, the Contest 25. This design was an immediate international success and served as the foundation of the company. Many new models were designed in the next decennia and Conyplex grew into a yacht builder of global stature. In the last 15 years the emphasis shifted from serial building to semi-customised yachts between 45 and 60 feet. Contest Yachts has always been a family company with actually the third generation in charge.
