Sevenstar Yacht Transport sponsorship for Contest Yachts

In a new accord, Contest Yachts is delighted to announce Sevenstar Yacht Transport’s landmark, three-year sponsorship of the luxury Dutch yacht builder’s two annual regatta-and-rally events sailed out of Medemblik, Holland, and Palma, Mallorca, both in June. Celebrating this partnership, the events will now run under the banner of Sevenstar Contest Cup and Sevenstar Mallorca Meeting.

Contest Yachts and Sevenstar Yacht Transport, the world’s leading yacht shipping services provider, are far from strangers, both headquartered in Holland and having a long working history together. Sevenstar is Contest Yachts’ transport partner when shipping new built and pre-owned yachts for handover to overseas owners. This is not the first sponsorship pairing, it is a long-term extension of a previous association with the Contest Cup, and back in 2013/14 an exciting joint international marketing initiative under the banner ‘Dare to Dream’. “The Dare to Dream project gave a dynamic demonstration of our essence,” says Richard Klabbers of Sevenstar. “With our fleet of 120 company owned vessels and scheduled routes criss-crossing 50 and more worldwide destinations, we transport craft from the tiniest to the largest, helping owners cross oceans whether it’s to swap and extend sailing seasons, change home ports or facilitate speedier extended cruising by taking out the longer passages. Dare to Dream exemplified this approach to bluewater cruising with Contest 42CS Beluga 2 crossing the Atlantic both ways between European and Caribbean Seasons and enjoying further shipping aboard Sevenstar between her regatta venues stretching from Florida southward down through the West Indies.” Contest Yachts’ CEO Arjen Conijn says, “We had wanted to demonstrate and promote this style of voyaging for some while and working with Sevenstar as we do created the opportunity. The project really proved itself, opened up so many possibilities that the available time would otherwise just not have allowed. Compared with the true expense of long passage making and risk potential for damage of sorts, costs actually were virtually the same. With Beluga 2 well prepared for transport and the care of the loadmasters, she always arrived in very good shape with of course none of the normal wear and tear. If cruising off round the world, leap frogging the most arduous crossings and jumping the seasons that force you into the conventional approximate 15 or 27 month rounding, this is an excellent way to achieve and spend more time exploring the favoured destinations in the South Pacific, Indonesia or elsewhere.” Fully facilitating this, Sevenstar offers a special All-In Flex package for world sailors, working with the seasons and with suitably flexible scheduling, providing, as in the wider portfolio of services, mast-up, with full insurance protection by Pantaenius, and matters such as certified loadmasters, in-house engineering and bespoke cradle systems all handled by the carrier. Simplicity itself. Closer to home, Contest Yachts and Sevenstar Yacht Transport together now look forward to sharing the pleasures of the Contest Cup and Mallorca Meeting and to welcoming sailors from all around the world on board.

For 2017, the Sevenstar Contest Cup runs 2-4 June, and the Sevenstar Mallorca Meeting 8-10 June.
