Contest 45CS

Perfectly set for distance cruising with the big boat comforts of central cockpit and large, full beam, aft master suite, the Contest 45CS is a familiar sight on the circumnavigator’s circuit. With primarily a two sleeping cabin plan with option of a third bunked cabin or workshop, she presents a very practical living and sailing arrangement. Finish, furnishing and equipping are all to Contest’s customary high standards with optional personalisations to make your boat very much your own.

The cockpit’s central wheel helm station presents a commanding position and excellent forward view with sheets and sail controls within reach for simplified short handing. She sails fast, tracking well with good feedback from the Jefa steering system, and with little heel thanks to good cruising design principles such as big, central, underfloor tanks contributing to form stability. 



Flush decks, secure centre cockpit and wraparound panoramic windows mark this Contest 45CS as very much the long legged cruiser, a boat comfortable to sail at pace with great outlook. Fixtures from sturdy side gates and handrails, for simple, safe boarding, and fold-down pushpit seats that lift to ease working of stern fairleads and cleats, all add to the sense of cruising completeness. Then there’s how you choose to specify. 


The spacious plan below, as standard, is for two cabins, master aft, and guest forward, with both sharing high comfort features and excellent stowage for long-stay clothing and personal effects. Generous consideration has also been given to ensuite shower space and heads. Materials from wood grain and inlays to colour of Corian worktops are individual as is the choice of appliances and equipment. For simplicity of service and maintenance there is a dedicated technical area and the well insulated engine room has a spacious side panel access from the practical corridor galley.

Most popularly rigged as a sloop, a cutter option is available. Mainsail reefing can be in boom or mast. Sail controls all in reach of helmsman position. Mainsheet traveller at cockpit aft end.

interior layout

Choice of 2/3 cabin plan, 2 ensuites. Optional third cabin can also be specified as workshop. Convertible saloon table slide transforms for dining/occasional use, extending space.

deck layout

Deckplan incorporates big split chain locker with additional kedge stowage and chain rinse. Twin lockers in aft deck take dinghy and working gear. Steps down to scooped stern.
