The waiting is over, the new Contest 67CS has splashed! The first full public viewing is set for the Cannes Yachting Festival in September but a private viewing in June drew a strong gathering all eager to get onboard…
With invited guests shoreside in Medemblik’s harbour sipping champagne as the awaited Contest 67CS hove into view heralded by jazz saxophone played from the foredeck, reaction was immediate. The clamour was on to get aboard! With hardly time to tie up the first guests were on deck then quickly below to enjoy this exciting launch.
Distinctively new with even sleeker profile to the Contest signature wraparound coachroof windows, this first judel/vrolijk designed 67CS so neatly demonstrates our guiding principle of building dreams together. For this owner, the clue to life’s passion is in the yacht’s name: Waldron, as in Mal Waldron, jazz pianist extraordinaire. And the theme below extends this enthusiasm with highly individual interior styling reflecting jazz club culture from red leather and brass detailing to custom built humidors for this commissioner’s fine cigars.
As well as looking the dream, she sails like a dream. The linesman have hit the spot. Fast but with such simple, stable operation, in the lower range she exceeds wind speed, and tested also with 40knots gusting across the broad, clean sweep of foredeck, she hardly loaded the helm which all the time gave positive, precise and real feel. A dream but also now reality!
