New flybridge version of Contest 52MC makes global debut
Renowned for its sailing yachts, Contest Yachts in the Netherlands exhibited its first motoryacht at last year’s HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show. The Contest 52MC was received to great acclaim, and resulted in several orders. It was also nominated for the European Powerboat of the Year 2014 at Boot Düsseldorf in January. Now, in response to market demands, Contest Yachts is building a Flybridge version of the 52MC – which will make its global debut at this September’s HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show.
The Contest 52MC was the crowning achievement of over half a century of experience in the yachtbuilding sector. Created in cooperation with designer Georg Nissen and Vripack Naval Architects, and with an interior from Wetzels Brown Partners, the motoryacht seamlessly amalgamated all of Contest’s core values – performance, quality, comfort and design. Comfortable and technologically advanced, the model furthermore represented something to which both committed motoryacht owners and former sailing yacht aficionados could aspire.
The Contest 52MC Flybridge builds on these strengths and adds a flair all its own. The yacht has a large upper deck and a steering station, easily accessed from below via a stylish spiral staircase. The spacious open cockpit at saloon level is doubled by a flybridge, providing comfortable spaces to enjoy the sun or the shade. And the streamlined design of the flybridge allows the height to be limited to a modest 3.74 metres, making for a truly graceful silhouette. All in all, this new version is a worthy elaboration on the successful 52MC concept.
In addition to the Flybridge edition, the Contest 52MC is available in three versions:
